The Ad Brief: Winning AI Ad Tactics This Week
Steal the formats and hooks that are actually converting right now. Here's what we're seeing in the data.

Your polished AI ads are probably underperforming.
We analyzed thousands of top-performing campaigns this week, and the data is clear: raw, authentic-style creative is beating high-production content, especially on TikTok and Reels. The surprising part? AI is the fastest way to get there.
The biggest mistake you can make is using AI to create ads that look like AI.
The Weekly Insight: Lo-Fi is the new Hi-Fi
This week's winning trend is all about perceived authenticity. Viewers are scrolling faster than ever and have developed an incredible ability to spot an ad in milliseconds. The moment something looks too polished, too perfect, or too “corporate,” they’re gone.
So, how do you use a powerful AI tool to look… less perfect?
You use it for volume and ideation, not just for final execution. Instead of generating one perfect video, you should be generating 20 different hook scripts for a raw, UGC-style video you can shoot on your phone.
For example, an e-commerce brand selling a portable blender tested this. They used AI to script 15 unique hooks (e.g., “My 3 biggest smoothie mistakes,” “Why I returned my Nutribullet,” “The best travel hack I learned on TikTok”). They shot them all in 30 minutes. The top 3 performers from that batch achieved a 50% lower Cost Per Purchase than their single, beautifully animated AI-generated ad.
Tactic to Steal: The AI-Powered "Pattern Interrupt"
Here’s a tactic you can apply in the next 10 minutes. Take your best-performing video ad and focus only on the first 3 seconds. Your goal is to break the viewer's scrolling pattern.
Before: Your ad starts with a smooth, beautiful shot of your product. After: Use an AI image or text-to-video tool to create a jarring, fast-paced intro. A great example is a rapid-fire montage of text message screenshots showing customer reviews, or a series of AI-generated “fails” related to your product's problem. Splice this 3-second “interrupt” onto the beginning of your existing video. This simple change forces the brain to stop and process what it's seeing, giving your ad a fighting chance to deliver its message. What's new at Market-IA (this week)
